Privacy Policy

Within MAGICA, we carefully treat and strive to minimize any personal data we collect during our work. For all our activities, we aim to comply with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union. 

Personal data consists of “any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘data subject’); an identifiable natural person can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person”.

Our Website

We do not collect nor record any personal data during your visit to our website. Using our website (https://magica-project.eu/), we automatically record and evaluate technical access data. For this purpose, we use Matomo, an open-source, EU-based tool for web analytics. The data collected by Matomo cannot be assigned to a specific person. The data collected by us via Matomo includes:

• The IP address is shortened by the last two octets.
• Information about the Internet browser and operating system used.
• The URL of the page that was viewed before the current page (if the page allows it).
• The length of stay on the MAGICA website.
• The URLs of the pages visited on the MAGICA website.

Our Newsletter

When you subscribe to the newsletter of both MAGICA and JPI Climate, some personal information (your name and email address) will be recorded and added to the list of subscribers.  JPI Climate Central Secretariat (BELSPO) and CMCC (for the duration of MAGICA only) use Mailchimp to manage the newsletter (see Mailchimp's privacy statement here). Each issue of our newsletter includes a link to cancel your subscription.
