On 11 December 2023, at COP28 in Dubai, the Equinox Process was presented at the side event "The Equinox Process: Accelerating the transfer of climate knowledge to policy for urgent action".
The side event opened with a statement by the Irish Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Eamon Ryan, which was followed by a statement by the Spanish Vice-President of the Government of Spain and Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Teresa Ribeira – which was reported by Marìa Sànz.
Then, Antonio Navarra (JPI Climate Chair) Elena Lopéz-Gunn (Director of Icatalist and Member of the European Science Advisory Body on Climate Change) Myles Allen (Director of Oxford Programme on post-carbon transition) and Frank McGovern (Equinox Vice-Chair of JPI Climate) discussed a new mechanism for the timely provision of authoritative climate knowledge to enable the transition to a climate-neutral and resilient Europe – the Equinox Process.
