More than 430 submissions have been received in response to the call for content for the European Climate Change Adaptation (ECCA) Conference being held in Dublin, June 19-21, for the first time.
Registration is open for anyone interested in climate adaptation with early bird prices of €130 until May 10th.
ECCA organisers, including JPI Climate and the MAGICA project, welcomed the bumper response and are reviewing the submissions to prepare a packed programme of events. Applicants can expect to hear whether they have been successful in April.
Petra Manderscheid, Executive Director of the Central Secretariat of JPI Climate, said:
“We are impressed by the quality and diversity of the submissions we have received for the ECCA2023 programme. We are pleased with the great engagement from all over Europe and particularly from programmes in the global climate community. Our theme leaders and reviewers now have a lot of work to do! Thank you to everyone who responded to the call and we hope you will join us ECCA in Dublin, whether or not you are presenting.”
The ECCA2023 themes are:
1. Stepping Up Climate Action: Support Through Climate Platforms and Services
2. Adaptation Responses to Sea Level Rise and Coastal Change
3. Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Change Adaptation
4. Preparing for More Frequent and Severe Climate Extremes
5. Reframing Societal Transformation by Challenging Underlying Assumptions
6. Climate and Social Resilience of Future Energy Infrastructure and Systems
The conference, sponsored by the European Space Agency, will bring together audiences of researchers and practitioners, policy-makers, local authorities, the private sector, investors, NGOs, citizens organisations, youth and education organisations, community groups engaged in adaptation, communicators and all interested in adaptation.
They will be able to share ideas, experiences of challenges and solutions, and learn from Europe’s leading climate researchers and those supporting the development and use of climate products and services.
Alongside the programme of keynote speakers, plenaries, parallel sessions and creative arts, there will be a series of side events.
