6th MAGICA General Assembly

9 October 2025

The 6th General Assembly of the MAGICA project took place online on 6-7 October 2025, back-to-back with the 30th Governing Board Meeting of JPI Climate (7-8 October) in Bonn, Germany.

As the MAGICA project approaches its final year, the Assembly reflected on the project’s achievements and its strong support to JPI Climate in its activities promoting science-informed climate action. Among MAGICA’s contributions are the establishment of the Equinox Process, support to the Knowledge Hub on Sea Level Rise, and the Climate Neutrality Forum, all of which have strengthened JPI Climate’s capacity to connect research, policy, and practice.

Several important events are still to come between now and the end of the project, including the Workshop on Societal Transformation in the face of climate change, Dialogue on Modelling the Economics of Climate Change, Climate Neutrality Forum 2026, among others. At the same time, one of MAGICA’s key outputs, the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) 2026–2035, is now moving towards finalisation. The SRIA will help define future priorities for climate research and collaboration across Europe.

With the project set to conclude next year, MAGICA continues to build momentum and looks forward to achieving more great milestones in the months ahead.
